This is a difficult and uncertain time for everyone, and we want to assure you that our union is continuing to work, plan and prepare for our members as we do every day. The information about the COVID-19 virus is changing on an hourly basis, and we are doing our best to keep our selves and the members informed so that we may all continue to be safe, healthy and working. What we would like to stress to everyone is that we all need to prepare but not panic.
For members on the job, we are being very careful to balance the needs of our members’ health, safety and livelihood during this time. The health and safety of you and your family is most important so please follow all CDC, OSHA and SMOHIT guidance when it comes to social distancing and good hygiene practices on job sites. This includes staying home if you feel sick. Please do not put the health and safety of your brothers and sisters in jeopardy by going to work sick.
Local 105 will continue to update the membership with news and resources on our website local105.org and our Facebook page @smwia.socal. If we all work together in solidarity to do our part to prevent the spread of this virus, we might be able to get back to regular business sooner rather than later.
