Metro board meeting today will eliminate a plan for a 710 tunnel

Plans and debate on how to close a gap in the 710 freeway between Alhambra and Pasadena have raged on for over 40 years. The most recent plan to tunnel its way to the 210 Freeway have been a hot button topic. Today, the MTA Board will vote on pursuing alternatives to a freeway or a tunnel.

“A motion to select the ‘Transportation System Management/Transportation Demand Management’ option as the locally preferred alternative for the 710 North project. In English, that means local road improvements.”
